Pro-Quality Scholarship Final for 5

Dear Doctoral Students!

The University of Warsaw has launched a scholarship programme ‘Pro-Quality Scholarship Final for 5’. The benefit is intended for doctoral students at doctoral schools who have had to extend the deadline for the submission of their dissertation for objective reasons (first extension). The scholarships will be paid until the end of December 2025. Their exact amount will be determined after 31 October 2025. The budget allocated for the payment of the scholarships is PLN 500,000.

Who is the Pro-Quality Scholarship Final for 5?

The Pro-Quality Scholarship Final for 5 is open to doctoral students at doctoral schools who have been approved for the first extension of their dissertation deadline, i.e. after 48 months of education.

Who can receive the scholarship?

The scholarship is only for those doctoral students who have not submitted their dissertation by the submission date included in their Individual Research Plan for objective reasons beyond the control of the doctoral student (i.e. following situations which the doctoral student could not have foreseen or could not have prevented from arising, other than by causing delays in the schedule indicated in the Individual Research Plan). In addition to demonstrating and documenting the reasons for the delay, the doctoral student shall indicate how these reasons have affected the delays in the work on the dissertation and what steps they intend to take in order to complete the dissertation by the end of the academic year in which the Pro-Quality Scholarship Final for 5 is paid as well as indicate a plan for improving the quality of the doctoral dissertation. The application must be accompanied by ½ of the dissertation, approved by the supervisor, or equivalent research results approved by the supervisor, and the publication record to date, obtained in the course of studies at the doctoral school.

How much will the scholarships amount to?

The budget allocated for the payment of scholarships is PLN 500,000. The exact amount of the scholarship will be announced after 31 October 2025.

When and where can applications be submitted?

Applications for the Pro-Quality Scholarship Final for 5 should be submitted between 1 and 23 October 2025 via university electronic mail to the following e-mail address: phd.ns@uw.edu.pl. Applications should be submitted with the usage of the official template.

Is the scholarship subject to repayment?

In justified cases, the scholarship holder is called upon by the director of the doctoral school to repay the Pro-Quality Scholarship Final for 5 if, within 12 months from the date of payment of the Pro-Quality Scholarship Final for 5 they have not demonstrated significant progres towards the completion of the dissertation.
