Anti-Hate Campaign
16 06 2026
Hate speech, exclusion, and the pressure associated with functioning in the academic environment are challenges increasingly faced by PhD candidates. Hierarchical dependencies, high expectations, and uncertainty regarding academic and professional development can significantly affect mental well-being, sense of security, and overall comfort in work and study.
During the events organized by the Doctoral Council of Gdańsk University of Technology and Office of the Academic Ombudsperson, we will discuss how to recognize manifestations of hate speech and excessive pressure, explore their consequences, reflect on how uncertainty and self-doubt influence relationships, and consider ways to build a culture of respect, support, and open communication within academia.
