Mid-term Evaluation 2026

Below you will find information on the documents, deadlines and procedures applicable to the 2026 mid-term evaluation.

The implementation of IPB shall be subject to mid-term evaluation carried out at the mid-term of the education process specified in the study programme. Detailed rules for conducting the evaluation are described in the Rules and Regulations of the Doctoral School of Social Sciences at the University of Warsaw [LINK] in paragraphs 25-30 and in Act of 20 July 2018 – the Law on Higher Education and Science.

1. Deadlines

  • For doctoral students who complete their fourth semester of education in the summer semester 2025/2026 the submission of documents for the mid-term evaluation, including the report on the implementation of IPB, the questionnaire on the cooperation with the dissertation supervisor and other materials confirming the implementation of the IPB, takes place from 16 to 30 September 2026.
  • For doctoral students who complete their fourth semester of education in the winter semester 2026/2027 the submission of documents for the mid-term evaluation, including the report on the implementation of IPB, the questionnaire on the cooperation with the dissertation supervisor and other materials confirming the implementation of the IPB, takes place from 15 to 26 February 2027.
  • For doctoral students who complete their fourth semester of education in the summer semester 2025/2026 and have been admitted to the Doctoral School of Social Sciences in connection with the implementation of the PRELUDIUM BIS programme or the Doktorat Wdrożeniowy programme the submission of documents for the mid-term evaluation,
    including the report on the implementation of IPB, the questionnaire on the cooperation with the dissertation supervisor and other materials confirming the implementation of the IPB, takes place from 20 to 31 July 2026.

2. Place and method of submission of materials confirming the implementation of IPB for mid-term evaluation

Signed documents should be sent via university electronic mail to ocena.ns@uw.edu.pl giving the message the subject line: “Name of doctoral student – discipline”.

3. Templates

Doctoral students of the Doctoral School of Social Sciences shall send to the School
in the manner and by the date specified above:

  • signed report on the implementation of IPB [LINK];
  • signed questionnaire on the cooperation with the dissertation supervisor [LINK];
  • other materials confirming the implementation of the IPB.

Documents to be submitted by the dissertation supervisor (directly to the Secretary’s Office at ocena.ns@uw.edu.pl):

  • opinion on the doctoral student’s progress in the implementation of IPB [LINK];
  • questionnaire on the cooperation with the doctoral student [LINK].

4. Mid-term evaluation committees

The mid-term evaluation committees have been appointed to assess the implementation of IPB. The mid-term evaluation shall be prepared based on materials confirming the implementation of IPB, including the report on the implementation of IPB, and interviews with the doctoral student. The evaluation will be conducted mainly in October and November.

The date, place and method of submission of materials confirming the
implementation of IPB together with their templates for the mid-tem evaluation shall be determined by the Ordinance No 22 of the Director of the Doctoral School of Social Sciences of 25th June 2026 [LINK available in Polish only].
