“Scholarship for Start” – 4th edition

On April 1, 2026, the 4th edition of “Scholarship for Start for Doctoral Students” and “Scholarship for Start for Athletes”  was launched. These programs are aimed at individuals pursuing doctoral studies who began their education in doctoral schools in the 2025/2026 academic year.

The programme offers few types of scholarships, tailored to different kinds of achievements:

  • “Scholarship for Start for Doctoral Students” – intended for first-year doctoral students enrolled in a doctoral school who, in the course of the admission process, obtained a score ranking within the top 20% of results among those admitted as of 1 October of the academic year in which the doctoral student is applying for the scholarship, separately for:
    a) Interdisciplinary Doctoral School,
    b) Warsaw Doctoral School in Mathematics and Computer Science,
    c) and in all other cases: separately for each doctoral school, divided by academic disciplines.
  • “Scholarship for Start for Athletes” – intended for first-year doctoral students enrolled in a doctoral school, who are outstanding athletes. A person who placed in a scoring position at the Olympic Games, World Championships, European Championships, or Polish Championships (but not lower than 10th place).

If you want to apply for the “Scholarship to Start for Doctoral Students” download and complete the application form, then submit it to the Student Welfare and Support Office (BPM). Doctoral students are required to submit only the application form.
